KidSpace Extended Day Care, Early Childhood Development (ECE) and School Break Camps

The Washington Elementary School District is proud to offer high quality licensed before and after-school childcare for K-6 students at 22 locations and ECE programs for 4-year-olds at 7 locations. We also offer camps during school breaks. Quality care is essential to children’s development. KidSpace provides high quality, school-age care while supplementing learning. The program is developmentally appropriate for students in preschool through sixth or eighth grade and is supported by the community through tuition paid by parents, subsidies from government agencies such as DES and grants.

Enrichment Programs

The Community Enrichment program provides quality opportunities for children and adults to take part in special academic or recreational classes for a reasonable fee. The Washington Elementary School District believes that the public schools are owned and operated by and for its patrons and that the schools become and integral part of the community in terms of its intellectual and social expression and development. 21st Century Community Learning Centers  AKA: 国产探花After-School Academy

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant has served more than 4,000 students annually over the past 20+ years. This project affords 国产探花students and their families the opportunity to participate in no-cost activities and programs that extend their learning beyond the school day hours.

The grant's primary objective is to provide academic interventions in the areas of reading and math to targeted students in need of the intervention. Additionally, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, counseling programs, science, art, music, and recreation programs, technology education programs, youth development, and character education programs that are designed to reinforce skills.
