Parent Teacher Organization

  • About Us

The Mountain Sky Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) supports school-wide events, programs and fundraising.  We work hard to provide the best possible educational and extracurricular activities for the MSJH students, but we cannot do this work alone.  We know we can count on our parents, community members and local businesses to help us continue to make our school an environment of excellence for our kids. You can do this by supporting our school-wide fundraisers, or by donating time as a volunteer during the year.  Your tax-deductible donation goes a long way to supporting the various programs and activities on campus.

Learn how the PTO has raised and used funds raised to support our school.  Please read the  Community Report  covering the school years 2018-2019 through 2021-2022.

A note from the PTO President:

It's time for our November update. As always, there is a lot going on in November. Here's what you need to know:

School Dance - THIS FRIDAY! New Start Time at 6:30 p.m.

The fall dance start time has been moved back slightly to 6:30 p.m. for the Cross Country meet that is being held on Friday after school. The dance will end promptly at 8:30 p.m., so be sure to pick your kids up at that time. The theme is Seasons of Change. There is no official suggested dress attire, other than outfits must follow the school's dress code. Some kids will opt to dress up while others will be casual. There is no right or wrong way to go. Ms. Oddo invites kids to check out the Girl Boss Closet if they are looking for a new outfit to wear. Tickets for the dance are $3 and must be pre-purchased at lunch (Thursday is the last day they will be on sale at lunch). There will be no sales at the door. Light refreshments will be served, but it is recommended that kids have dinner before they go. Kona Ice will be on hand for kids who would like to purchase one.

Yearbooks - Pre-order before Feb. 1 to get a discounted price.

Yearbooks are available for pre-order now for $25. On Feb. 1, the price will increase to $30. You can order a yearbook at . When they ask for "Homeroom Teacher" put your child's 1st period teacher. I will be sending out an email in the next week or two about how parents and other loved ones of 8th graders can purchase a "Love Line" for their student for the yearbook.

"Footloose The Musical - Youth Edition" Auditions / Interviews This Month!

The school musical is fast approaching. As such, Mrs. Fortner and her team will be holding musical crew interviews on Nov. 14 and 15 and cast auditions on Nov. 19 and 21. Have your child see Mrs. Fortner if they are interested in participating!

Boys Basketball and Cheer Going Strong!

The boys basketball teams have begun their season - and the cheer team is there to cheer them on, as well as entertain the crowd during halftime. A huge thank you to everyone who attended their first home game earlier this week. We have three more games that we'd love to see just as well attended:

    • Tuesday, 11/12 @ Mountain Sky (Our Raising Cane Fundraiser is also that night)
    • Monday, 11/18 @ Thunderbird High School
    • Monday, 11/25 @ Mountain Sky

    A couple of Thank You(s)!

Thank you to everyone who donated snacks for our teacher/staff appreciation efforts! Thank you also to everyone who donated books to our Book Drive. We collected approximately 100 books that are already approved for the school library and another 100 books that the librarian can put through the district approval process to see if we can shelve them. Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended Love Our School day. It was a ton of fun, and we were able to help spruce up the school!

Check out the MSJH School Calendar!

The school has a ton of additional activities that your kids can participate in. Be sure to check out the school calendar to learn more.
